The Loss

Loss took place in residential area within Warrington following flood damage in late January 2021. Six ground floor flats including vulnerable customers and twenty semi-detached properties.

The works included full ground floor strip-out of all joinery, floor coverings, kitchens, decorations and bathrooms and full reinstatement. Co-ordination of 26 new kitchen designs – four options of kitchen unit colours with multiple designs, floor coverings and tiles (64 different options!)

Project Reinstatement:

  • Three separate contractors appointed to reduce timescales and AA costs.
  • Prioritise vulnerable customers; first customer moved back in on 26th April. Remaining five customers back in their homes first week of May.
  • Multiple co-coordination including loss adjuster, client, tenant liaison officers, drying consultant, tenants, three separate contractors and kitchen designer.
  • All homes complete by end of May.

Testimonial received from insured

“Our main priority is always the safety of our customers so making sure they had somewhere to move into was our first task. Myself along with other Tenant Liaison Officers and partners from Brawdia, made sure that we regularly kept in touch with residents, whilst the work to refurbish their properties was underway. We made sure that they were kept informed, involved in the choices of décor for example, and most of all supported back into their homes once the works were completed. Despite such devastating circumstances, the dedication of everyone involved in this project was felt throughout, all focused on centralising our customers’ and their needs until they could move back into their own homes.”
