Financial Year 2026/2027
Financial Year 2026/2027
This statement has been published in accordance with the requirements of the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015 and sets out the steps taken by Brawdia Limited (the “Company”) to prevent Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking happening within our business and by our external contractors and suppliers. It also applies to our operations in Ireland, where we voluntarily follow the same standards. We intend to review this statement annually.
Introduction
The Company recognises that Modern Slavery is present in the modern world and is an issue which is increasing, and which is global. Brawdia and its employees, together with those who work with and on behalf of the Company, have a responsibility to ensure no form of Slavery or Human Trafficking exists whether within our business or within those companies with whom we choose to partner.
This statement sets out the Company’s commitment to preventing Slavery and Human Trafficking in our business activities and the steps we have put in place with the aim of ensuring that there is no Slavery or Human Trafficking in our own business or in those of our external contractors and suppliers. We all have a duty to be alert to risks, however small. Staff are expected to report their concerns and management are expected to act on them.
Our Business
The Company is an independent firm of surveying experts operating across the UK and Ireland within the commercial property and social housing sectors. We provide a wide range of building consultancy services, including project management, insurance reinstatement work, defect analysis, cladding inspections, dilapidations, and technical due diligence. Our operations span both office‑based and site‑based activities.
We take our legal, regulatory, and policy obligations seriously, recognising their importance in helping us uphold human rights and respond promptly to any potential breaches or violations. To support this commitment, we have developed the following measures:
Policies and Controls
The Company already has several policies and procedures in place designed to ensure that our business, and businesses with which it contracts, are managed ethically and in accordance with all applicable laws. These include polices relating to Anti-Bribery and Corruption, Anti-Fraud, Anti-Money Laundering, Sanctions, and a Business Code of Conduct, Ethics and Whistleblowing. All employees complete online training courses on Anti Bribery and Anti Money Laundering annually and are required to sign an annual compliance cert confirming that they comply with all global policies.
Our Whistleblowing Policy encourages all employees to speak up in good faith about any concerns related to modern Slavery or unethical conduct, and we are committed to ensuring that no individual ever faces retaliation for raising a concern honestly and appropriately.
Suppliers
We expect all suppliers to ensure that they neither participate in nor tolerate any form of Slavery or Human Trafficking. This requirement also applies to any third‑party suppliers engaged in delivering goods or services to the Company, whether directly or indirectly.
We are committed to ensuring that our procurement of goods, services, and facilities — and our selection of business partners — consistently reflects our values of equality, diversity, ethical conduct, and the prevention of Slavery and Human Trafficking.
Recruitment
The Company has specific recruitment policies in place to ensure that all hiring decisions are fair, consistent, and aligned with our organisational values. Our recruitment processes include formal approval steps designed to ensure policies and procedures are properly followed, including verifying a candidate’s identity and confirming their legal right to work in the United Kingdom.
We ensure that all employees are paid at least the UK National Minimum Wage, or the statutory National Minimum Wage set under Irish employment law, and that our employment practices comply fully with all relevant employment legislation in both the United Kingdom and Ireland. We are committed to maintaining a recruitment process that supports ethical conduct, protects workers, and upholds the standards expected within our industry.
Awareness
Raising staff awareness of the Modern Slavery Act is integral to maintaining our standards of expected behaviours.
The Company will ensure that our staff:
- are aware of the Modern Slavery Act; and
- understand the signs of Slavery and Human Trafficking, and know how to report any concerns, including through our Whistleblowing Policy.
This statement is made pursuant to Section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes the Company’s Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement.
Risk Assessments
We continually assess our exposure and potential exposure to risks and have a control and reporting framework to communicate issues. This includes an assessment of the risk of our operations utilising or being complicit in Slavery and trafficking activities. We have assessed that this risk is low.
This statement is made pursuant to Section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes our Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement for the financial year 2026/2027 for the United Kingdom. It also applies to our operations in Ireland, where we follow the same standards on a voluntary basis.
